She has received numerous awards from the world’s leading film festivals and is the first Georgian director to be nominated for the Academy Award for the best international feature film: “Chef in Love.” Her feature film “Robinsonade or My English Grandpa” won Camera d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

Nana Djordjadze is among the leading filmmakers in the history of Georgian cinema. She was born in 1948 in Tbilisi, Georgia, part of USSR at that time, and graduated architecture in her hometown. In 1974 she decided that nothing can stop her to devote herself to her passion of cinema art and later graduated as a director. She can do everything on the set - writing, painting, acting, but mostly prefers making movies. In 1987 Djordjadze received Golden Camera in Cannes for "Robinsonada or my English Grandfather". In 1992 she was invited as a member of the jury, and in 1997 she was appointed to evaluate the film titles at one of the most prestigious festivals - Venice. The same year her film "A Chef in Love" was contender for Academy Award for best foreign language film.
